Privacy Policy

Prime Beam is a player for the TV playlists you already have. It shows no ads and doesn't track you, and it collects only what it needs to work.

On your device

Prime Beam keeps the following on your iPhone, iPad or Apple TV:

  • Your profiles.
  • Your playlists and their downloaded channel lists.
  • Your favourites, watch progress, recently watched and recent searches.

Playlist passwords, playlist links and profile PINs go in the system Keychain. Without an account, none of this leaves your device.

The Home Screen widgets read a small summary that the app writes into storage shared with them, on the same device. It holds the titles and artwork of what you're watching and your favourite channels.

Accounts and sync

Signing in is optional. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive:

  • A stable identifier for you from Apple.
  • An email address, if you choose to share it. This may be one of Apple's private relay addresses.

We don't receive your Apple ID password.

With an account, Prime Beam syncs the following between your devices through our server:

  • Your profiles, playlists, favourites, watch progress, recently watched and recent searches.
  • Playlist logins, playlist links and PIN codes. We encrypt these on the server (AES-256-GCM) before storing them. They are only decrypted to send them back to your own devices.

We also keep when your account was created and when it was last used. We use this data only to run sync.

Tidying channel names

To show clean names (for example "BBC One" for "UK: BBC ONE FHD"), the app sends the raw category, channel and title names from your playlist to our server. The server returns tidied versions.

This happens whether or not you're signed in. With the names it sends a one-way hash of your provider's host name, never your login. These requests aren't linked to you or your account.

Purchases

Apple handles every payment: Prime Beam Pro, Lifetime and tips. We never see your payment details.

If you're signed in, the app sends Apple's signed record of your purchase to our server, so your plan follows your account. We check the record's signature against Apple's certificates. We store:

  • your plan;
  • when it renews or ends;
  • its transaction identifier.

Your playlist providers

The following come directly from the services you add, under their own privacy policies:

  • Your channels, films and series.
  • Their artwork.
  • Their TV guides.

Your device connects to them with the login you gave the app. Prime Beam doesn't host, provide or relay any of this content.

Server logs

Like any web service, our server logs each request it receives: the time, the address it came from, the path and the result. We use these logs to keep the service running and secure.

Request bodies, such as your synced data, are never logged. Logs rotate automatically and are deleted within weeks.

Where data is kept

Our server runs on Amazon Web Services in the European Union (Stockholm, Sweden). All connections to it use HTTPS. We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't share it with anyone except as the law requires.

Your choices and rights

  • Use it without an account. Everything stays on your device.
  • Delete your account. Go to Settings › Account › Delete Account. This removes your account and everything synced with it from our server.
  • Sign out. This stops syncing from that device.
  • Ask us. Contact us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.

Children

Kids profiles let parents set up a simpler space with adult categories hidden. Accounts are for adults: we don't knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters, we'll also tell you in the app.
